As far as Kagen is concerned, the Atomic Heart Engine is a glowing machine somebody was careless enough to leave under a pond.
This blueprint desk mat draws that machine the careful way, as a glowing blue schematic on dark navy graph paper with faint equations scribbled across the grid. On the left, the whole Engine sits on a ribbed round base, its curved shell plates pulled apart around a burning orange core, with jagged blue spikes rising up both sides. On the right, its rings come apart into a stacked parts diagram. Atomic Heart Engine is typed along the bottom edge in white capitals.
The real one has sat in a hidden cave chamber under the koi pond at Sunrise Sanctuary since the 1950s, which is more or less Kagen's point.
